Iranian Culture at NCA

National College of Arts in collaboration with the Iranian Culture Centre organized a five-day traditional Iranian exhibition and film-festival. The event opened on Monday with the first movie ‘The Color of Paradise.’ The cultural exhibition which continued till Friday showcased illustrations and pictures of the Iranian society post 1979, as well as books, jewelry, paintings with beautiful Iranian calligraphic inscriptions and customary utensils. The idea was to showcase the power of art and culture in fighting the evils of society including terrorism. Iranian Consul General Bani Asadi and National College of Arts Principal Murtaza Jafri inaugurated the festival on Monday, February 10th. The other movies attracting a large number of students were the “Beloved Sky” and “Here without Me” screened on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. The five-day event ended on Friday with a small closing ceremony underlining the need to exchange students, teachers and artists between Iran and Pakistan as well as launching Persian language classes across universities, beginning with NCA.
