Mahmood Hassan Rumi’s solo exhibition titled ‘Retrospective’ was inaugurated at the Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery. The pieces on display include portraits using pencils, oil on canvas and water colours. Many other artists have also displayed their work at the exhibition including many of Rumi’s classmates. Rumi is the head of the Naqsh School of arts and is himself a graduate of the National College of Arts. The pieces on display are mostly Rumi’s work depicting the beginning to the end of his career. NCA principal Dr Murtaza Jaffri, Saeed Akhtar, Professor Ijazul Hassan, Nazir Ahmad and Dr Maxim also graced the occasion with their presence. The show was opened by Abbasi Abidi who is the former principal of NCA. The attendees admired Rumi’s contribution to art saying that the work displayed at the exhibition is a valuable asset of our country especially for students and art lovers. The exhibition will continue till March 8.
