Water colours depicting the heritage of Lahore

Lahore saw a beautiful presentation of water colours by the artist Salim Ansari at Nairang Gallery attracting a large number of people. Nayyar Ali Dada inaugurated the exhibition on Friday. An amalgamation of ideas and innovation, the work focuses on the culture and spirit of Lahore which includes derelict verandas, picturesque, grimy streets and markets as well as some remnants of Mughal opulence. The paintings are displayed in a variety of styles which takes one to the good old times of this city, its culture and rich heritage. Ansari deserves a round of applause for the brilliant use of water colours to recreate the spirit of Lahore and Punjab.
